how to get black belt in karate?
When I first started karate, I was only five years old. I remember watching black belts and thinking that I was never going to be able to get there. How would I memorize all those katas? How would I run 3 miles? It just seemed impossible.
My brother, Matthew inspired me. Around the time that I got my brown belt, my brother got his karate black belt. When he got his black belt and it told me it is possible. I needed to memorize all my papers, learn all my katas. If he could do it, then I could do it! And it made me really want to get my black belt even more.
Ever since I was a white belt, Sensei Mark has been talking about the karate black belt test. He is always telling us that we need to work hard and put in our best effort and that we can do this. He never gives up on us. He tells me that I am a fighter. That makes me feel like I can do this.
When I put that black belt around my waist, I am going to feel amazing. I will know that I worked very hard and didn’t give up. My parents, family, friends, and Senseis will all be proud of me and I will be so happy. And I can’t wait for my brother to call me Sensei.
